I'm confused about Duraspark conversion info. The Holley carburetor part number 7448 link brings up a manual choke. But the TRS 2.8L Duraspark conversion page says to leave the wiring in place for the electric choke.

I prefer a manual choke, but may be asking for trouble. Any suggestions?

I have the manual choke,i have no complaints.$10 dollar cable kit from advance auto parts installs in 30 minutes.

I believe there is a auto choke version of the 7448 available through summit racing.

I don't think you need the wiring either way.
I went back to the stock carb and the auto choke seems to work fine without any wires. We'll see how well it does once it gets cold out though, I may go manual then.

On my stock '85 carb there is a single wire that goes comes on with the key and pulls the choke off. They may have changed it from earlier stock carbs but mine does have a wire to operate the choke and will raise a fit without it.

Ya,
mine also has a spot for a wire but so far works fine without being hooked up.
