so i changed out the whole acc pump on the ranger an hour ago and i was wondering if the throttle link was supposed to touch the button??? It touched at WOT but i thought it was closer on the old one??? The bar is about 1/2" away from the button, can anyone clarify if it is supposed to be that way?

Not really.you have several holes that the linkage plastic pivot can go in on throttle.Did you have it loose?

is the button the same length on both the old and the new pump? Could be you have the wrong pump.. If not then it is operator error..

yeah its the same length but i didnt touch the throttle linkage...unless someone fiddled with it while i was at the parts store...and i was sober the whole time. I went out and studied it tonight and came up with nothing so i am going to take the acc. pump back off and examine it closer in the morning
