i just bought a 1998 ranger 4x4 v6 3.0 manual trani, i am having trouble getting into any gear when i am sitting. if im rolling a bit it will go into gear but if im sitting at a stand still it wont budge. i tried double clutching, if i turn the truck off and then back on it will go into gear like nothing. help, please:no2:
thanks,

Sounds like the clutch isn't releasing all the way. Check the fluid for the clutch under the hood on the driver's side. Then bleed the system by opening the bleeder on the tranny bellhousing and letting the fluid drain out some (don't let the master run out of fluid under the hood though). If this doesn't work, you'll need a new clutch I think. My buddy had a similar problem with his Honda. Turned out the clutch springs were broken (the little coil shock absorber springs - not the diaphragm).
