93 tranny match a 99?

I have a 91 4.0 with a 91 4.0 clutch, stock 89 master cylinder, 93 slave cylinder and a 99 ranger transmission. I had kind of forgot about the strange combination i had until i recently replaced my slave cylinder. How can i determine exactly which tranny I have. I didn't notice a serial number on it. I'm wondering if i have the right slave cylinder. anyway, kind of some rambling.
 
Okay so i guess the answer to my question is pretty obvious according to the tech library which says 91 - 2000 4.0 tranny is the mazda. What's weird is that when i was trying to find a tranny i tried a couple bad ones until i put this one in. It seems like i remember this one being slightly differently. Like the crossmember mount was positioned a little different angle or something. Am i just smoking something? The other trannies i had tried that ended up bad were i think 93s.
 
The only manual transmission used with the 4.0 is the Mazda.

However, the near identical transmissions used with the 3.0 and 2.3 won't fit because the bellhousing pattern is different for the different engines.

the differences between the master cylinder/clutch cylinder/etc are about YEAR.

the slave cylinder MUST match the clutch line used.

The line from a '99 will not work, nor can it be easily made to work on a '94 or earlier, though the slave used in a '99 is identical to that used in a 1993-94.

The "late" slave is made from a glass reinforced super plastic
The '88-92 slave cylinder is made from aluminum and uses a different connector to couple to the clutch line.

hey thanks for the feedback. If i remember right, i did have to interchange the line from the original 89 one to one that would fit the 93 slave i have in there. I probably should be using a matching year clutch and slave but it seems to be working. My slave did just freeze up after only pry 10k miles but then again the slaves failing seems to be a common problem.
