clutch kit

Anyone hear of a clutch kit called "premium quality"from the makers of zoom?

I got this kit from advanceauto parts for the price of the fenco kit because they did't have the fenco.saved like $47.

just wondering,i know zoom makes pretty good stuff.

Its actually called "perfection" clutch. Its a decent clutch. On a regular clutch job, I like to use Luk clutches, as theyre OEM.

thanks.actually it says power torque,but they said perfection at the store.i was happy to save the $47.

Anyone put a "heavy duty" clutch in theirs? are they any better or is it a bunch of bs?

Better for what?

If your clutch grabs under all reasonable conditions, you can't do any better.

If you're afraid of burning it out or other abuse, no clutch can prevent that.

Remember, the clutch's job is to release when told to and to grab otherwise. If it does that, it works and you don't need "upgrading." Almost all upgrades have tradeoffs; there is always a cost/benefit. But if the benefit is zero, cost/benefit is infinite, even if the cost is low. Not good.

For the case of heavy-duty, that means the springs are stiffer. Which means higher hydraulic pressures and so on. For the racing clutches like Centerforce, they only do anything at high RPM, due to the centrifugal weights. So, you won't see any benefit unless you redline the engine regularly. And they cost a lot more than basic clutches.

FYI, Luk makes just about everything commonly available these days.
