happy birthday lt(jg) john finn,99 years old today.understand he was given a birthday bash aboard the uss midway in san diego.for those of you who don't know,he was given the medal of honor for his actions on 7 dec 41 by adm chester nimitz. :birthday:

at the time of the attack,finn was a chief aviation ordinanceman,he had access to the good stuff.he has been in several of the history channel pearl documentries,and said he was mad as hell.

believe he grabbed a machine gun and opened up at the planes and picked up a good deal of shrapnel for his efforts.fiesty old cuss,he received a wartime commision later.
