How do I use google to NOT....?

Anyone know how to do a google search without popping up useless things like patent #'s(patentstorm.com) and crap like other search portals(google caches somthing and you click on the link and it's like no information, just links to many other sites!)

Hm. Dunno about all that, but you could put a minus sign in front of a word that you don't want. For example, if you are looking up ranger engines, but only want the 4.0L models, you could type:

" Ranger 4.0 engine -3.0 -2.3 -2.5 -2.9 "

That will exclude any word with "-" in front of it.

May help a lil bit...

If you are looking for a specific phrase or few words you can out it in quote like Pete said such as: "ranger engine", and it will only give results that have those two words together, whereas if you searched: ranger engine, it will give results with either 'ranger' or 'engine.'

you can also throw in a comma if you want to expand your search. Such as Ranger, 4.0

i have found that if you hit the "i'm feeling lucky" button, that that eliminates alot of B.S too
