need 8.8 help

i found 456's [gears] out of a 1996 f-150 with a 8.8 rear. now will those 456's work in my 92 explorer 8.8 LS?:huh:

i THINK so. best way to do it is check and see if the parts numbers are the same on 4wheelparts.

ALL 8.8 gears are interchangeable.

no...an 8.8 gear is an 8.8 gear. no part number needed

There was something about mustang/exploder/f150/ranger 8.8" diff covers and ring gear clearence on here a while back.

But like stated, 8.8" ring gear is 8.8" ring gear.
