land speed record truck

Way cool. And a diesel, no less. I likey things that go FAST.:icon_thumby:

You mean we can fit 6.0 powerstroke's under the hood of the Ranger. :yahoo:

For me, a I-4 2.3-3.0 diesel will do me just fine.

Thats not a record, Banks built a Dakota pickup with a common rail 5.9 cummins (called the Sidewinder) a few years ago and reached 222 MPH. Puts out 720 Hp and 1300 lb/ft and gets 23 mpg...

Theres a few contributing factors to what gives the ranger its title. The most imortant is that it states in the artice, "C/Diesel Class." The trucks are in seperate classes. The ranger does old the title-for its class.

The "Rocket Ranger" achieved an average speed of 215.091 miles-per-hour - nearly 2 miles-per-hour faster than the previous record of 213.583 miles-per-hour in the "C/Diesel Truck" class. SPAL's record is recognized by the Southern California Timing Association/Bonneville Nationals Inc. (SCTA/BNI).
