how do i get the dinger/domelight to shut off? i was gonna pull the fuse but i dont have the cover telling me what fuse is what. help me plz:derisive:
 
When I pulled my doors off I just cut the speaker wires and the one wire for the door adjar. The dome light stays off. Mine has the shitty left side/off/right side light. I can only turn it on when the key is in the ignition.

No, but I have gotten bitched out for having fogged tail lights, a wicked crack in my winshield, no front license plate, over loading my bed, and having no side mirrors.

Stop by checkers or autozone or what ever and get a set of clamp on mirrors. They're like ten or twelve bucks a piece. Cheaper then a fix-it ticket.

As long as shit doesn't fly out, and you're wearing your seat belt you shouldn't have an issue.

I think the issue with running no doors (besides lack of mirrors) is there isn't much of a lip to keep stuff in, where as jeeps have a big lip on the tub.
 
There's no mirrors except on crooked side mirror on our Dodge Ram.. that one single mirror gives you a nice view of the yellow line next to your rear tire.. never gotten any complaints by officers for it or the lack of any others. But that could just be because it only drives about a quarter mile on normal days.. but we do take it 40+ miles to stone docks.. so I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky.

not too mention the fact that if you are unlucky enough to get broadsided yer a$$ is toast:not_i:, even though it ain't much, some protection is better than none
 
Another question (sorry to thread jack), but does anyone happen to know what the law is for running no doors, in Washington State preferably? I've looked it up and I can't find anything. Can you just take the doors off and be ok, except for having mirrors. But mirrors aside, yay or nay?
 
I think the law states there has to be a lip at the bottom and at least a drivers mirror. Whether you'll be harassed is up to the cops. I like my half doors
 
To stop the chimes, just pull the dinger out... the box under the dash over the tunnel... if you put your hand on it you can feel it when it dings.
 
build the doors with an adjustable contact bolt to close the switch.


you do not need sill plates as there is not supposed to be anything on the floor.

but vinyl/leather/some material or alum skin plates to span the door opening take seconds to make. i run rubber wall inserts as well for rain and mud.


i use one mirror on the drivers side usually and two sometimes.


making material doors with conduit frames is cake to do as well. if you have ac i suggest that, a boat tarp shop can hoopk you up cost effectivly.


i have seen a few xj's with zip in hard plastic windows and plan on that sometime as well.
 
I agree on the half doors, go to your nearest pull-n-save/wrecking yard and pick up some used doors that are in good shape. You don't need the windows (glass) or any of the other attachments, so they should be fairly cheap. Take them home and hack away to what you want. Mine cost me 60.00 bucks for the 2 and about 2 days of work........

and believe it or not just the minor mods on bloodbanes doors make a difference on the trail for visibility.
 
Nice thing about no doors is the constant breeze on yer balls.

Feels like a thousand tiny leprachauns are blowing on your junk.
