90 Ranger trans prob.

I need to replace the trans in my 90, 2.3 5 speed Ranger, For direct bolt in do I have any other options other than the Mazda 5 speed. Need help ASAP, having a hard time gettin rides to work 50 miles a day, can't afford to lose my job. Also anyone know where I might locate one at a decent price in or around Detroit?

from 1988-up the only manual trans made for the 4cyl engine is the Mazda.

Why do you think something else would be better?

I didn't think, nor did I know if there was something better, Thats why I asked the Good Folks of The Ranger Station!
