If they're rusted, good freakin' luck

Only way you'll get them off is with a cutting disc on a die grinder or angle grinder (or what I did, grind out the rivets holding the brackets onto the frame, and pull the whole leafspring, hangers & everything off, and take it into the garage to give full assault to those bolts).

That's pretty much what happens with all of them. Just did the shackles and bushings on a BII a few weeks ago.

had to replace them on both of my 93's that i had.. actually my brother did it. it was the biggest pain in the ass because they are riveted to frame and you have to use an air chisel and a torch to get them off. Obviously we used grade 8 bolts to reinstall the new ones. The shackles were were like 80 bucks total for both sides for the upper and lowers. Yea he had to pretty much melt out the bushing on the leaf spring. He cursed me both times he had to do it. Good luck with it

I had to get the bolts out when I swaped to SJ leafs. It was a bitch. They were all rusted in there and the nut is in the inside of it so you really use punch and hit it out with a hammer.

An air chisel. Works wonders.

i just went through this myself, I wound up using a sawzall and cutting the bolts off.

When you put new bolts through the sleeves, load them up with anti-seize. If you ever have to remove them in the future, you'll thank yourself
