F150 Coils In My Ranger?

i was told that if i put F150 coil springs in my ranger it would lift the front about 4 inches. is this legit and or possible? it almost seems too easy. If it does work would i need any other differnt parts its 2WD. I thought i might have already seen this thread but coulnt find it so sorry if im askin the same question. Thnks guys.
 
I run F-150 coils on the front of my 4WD Explorer. They gave me about 2.5" of lift. I don't know what the amount would be for your Ranger.

The coils are a bit stiffer, so you'll want to run without a swaybar.
 
so all i need to do is just pull my ranger coils out, stick the F150 coils in, remove the sway bar, and im ready to go. will i still be able to get my truck aligned?
 
you have i beams, so you can't just stick a taller coil in your bucket without having camber issues
 
now i was told by another person i can put the coils in and then some sort of drop bracket that will fix the camber. sorry bout all the questions im still new to the whole lifting thing. ive only ever lowered stuff. thnks again guys.
 
You will definetly need some drop brackets to get the alignment in spec. I would say get some 4" brackets..Rough Country sells a 4" bracket box kit for $200..thats about the cheapest i think. I wouldnt mess around with Tuff Country brackets.. Skyjacker and Superlift have bracket kits as well..they cost alot of money but are the stronger ones out there. If your camber is still negative after the lift then add a small coil spacer under the coils to get the tires more parallel.

dude i believe you, i swear to god, i just have no idea what im doin... ive only ever lowered stuff, ive just now startin comin to my senses.
 
you wont need drop brackets unless you want over 3.5 lift.


you will need camber bushings.
 
From what people have said on here, the f150 coils give 2.5" of lift. That possibly can be aligned, but not with factory style camber bushings. You need a set of dual adjustable camber bushings, any of these will work.... Ingalls 594, Specialty Products 24180, Moog K8986, Spicer #6122025, Napa NCP 264-3950, Superlift SLF-1120. They allow you to dial in camber and caster separately up to +/- 4 degrees. You'll probably have more problems with the radius arms being at too much of an angle, which will affect downtravel.
