Is anyone running BBs or golf balls or the like to balance heavy tires like swampers? I know of a few people running BBs and am probably going to do the same shortly, just wondering if anyone here has any experiences with this sort of thing.

My brother has those little ceramic beads in his tires. They don't work. My unbalanced 35s ride better. A good wheel and tire shop will be able to balance them, most places just don't like to bother.

Nobody else?
I did some google searches and it seems most people have good things to say about bb's you just have to use the right amount. I'm going to try some bb's on my LTBs/steel wheels and my BFG MTs/aluminum wheels. I'm getting them both mounted in the next couple weeks, I'll post up my experiences.

Hey, I have heard good things about airsoft pellets, the plastic BB's really. I purchased some 0.25g pellets and plan on trying them soon. I look forward to hearing about your steel BB experience.

I'm using a product by Magnum. It's a balancing compound that is TPMS safe. Works great. Others I have put onto it also tell me that it works well. It's available through Prima Tire Supplies. Should be a distributor in your area.
I've also heard that airsoft pellets work good too. I think one guy was using 8oz in his 36 in Iroks. Ive also heard of sugar packets too, but Im not sure how well they would work.

ive heard toilet paper rolls still in the packaging. I guess they unravel and wrap around the rim making a awesome balance. I also heard paintballs work awesome but you should only run them in the winter. :tease:

Just thought I would dredge this back up, I'm running 6oz. of steel bb's in my Ltb's with no problems. In fact I think they balance better than my old bfg's that were balanced the standard way.

I am running 8OZ of the ceramic beads in my tires and hate them. They don't balance until over 35 and after 60 it is sporadic balancing. Like they are constantly shifting and rebalancing over and over. I think a little bit of weights and beads would be the best.

Whatever you do, dont run quarters for balancing:D
