ok so im at my wits end, every little 5 minute job on this truck takes hours.....wtf!!!!

I'm still trying to get thge hydraulic line off the tranny, I pushed in the little white collar and pressed in the line itself to reliefe pressure, and my understanding is its a slip collar like a quick release on an airhose. So whytf! won't it come off? It won't even move. Why of all the rangers in the classified (5) did i get teh one with the rediculousness? It had a rough running engine... I fixed that then BLAM!!!! outta the blue the tranny goes out? what kinda shyt is that?
 
I just cut mine off with a sawzall. Of course I was planning on putting a new slave cylinder in anyways. I cut the line right after the fitting in the slave cylinder part of it. Once the tranny was out I pryed what was left of the slave cylinder fitting out the disconnect fitting and all went smoothly from there.

If you go this route realize that you'll have to install a new slave (which is a smart idea anyways) and be careful you only cut the line after the disconnect.
 
Mine wouldn't budge either. I pushed the white plastic band in as far as possible all the way around with a screwdriver; then rotated the aluminum collar with a pliers while pushing it inward; then rotated the collar while I pulled it outward hard. Came out after a few attempts. There are lots of little spring steel fingers inside the coupler which can dig into the bore and make it difficult to disconnect. Hope this helps.

OK so this truck apparently used to be a farm truck and there was mud everywhere!!!when i got it. The white ring wasnt white and it wasnt moving either, i took a flathead and hammered the white ring in as far as it would go, then i took the same flat head(since the ring wasnt moving) and just pried the tube out. 30 seconds, amazing the way things work when you know what your doing. so tranny is out and i have pics to post but no webhosting accounts, as soon as metalmacguyver or someone gets back to me with an email address ill send them to be posted.

pics are emailed, soon as he gets them he'll post them. with that metal ring out of there it seems to shift fine now. I might just try it, I wanna find out what it is tho before i go throwing it back inthere, im off to the tech library
