Hi

I got a 89 STX that I'm slowley fixing up and I got a issue with the blower motor. Some times it work and sometime it doesnt. When It does work it works at all the different speeds but doesnt seem to be moving much air flow. seems kind of weak. Sometimes when its not working but turned on it will all of a sudden start running when I'm going down the road. Almost like a loose connection or short somewhere.

I was going to just replace the blower motor to start off with but should I be looking someplace else instead. It's not this Resister I hear about right. Anybody else run into this on a 89. Thanks.

The fisrt thing to look at is the blower motor resistor that's mounted in the heater
duct under the hood.

Both that resistor block and the connector to it are common problem areas.
