I'm kicking around idea's on what to do with the poor girl especially since this.
Rollover idea's


Here is what's damaged, Both front fenders/ both doors/ core support (pulled right out of the frame)/ Roof / windshield (The A pilers are pushed to the passenger side) / The body behind the rear axle is really rough do to rust and the gate is trashed.

Here are my options.
1. Part it out
2. Straighten the A pilers and put a windshield in it and hope to never roll it again.
3. I have an 86 BroncoII body in decent shape. I'm not sure if the wiring would be plug and play? I'm not sure my cherry picker can pick it up. I would like the glass headlights better than the plastic ones. I'm not sure I have the time right now to do it. I would give it a 2" body lift instead of cutting the fenders if I go this way.

If the drivetrain is in good running order in the 89, I would vote on swapping over everything to the 86. That "hope you never roll again" thing isn't something I would bargin on. Of course, you could always build a rollcage.... or an exo?
 
the wiring will not be plug and play, use the dash and wiring out of the 89 and thats what I would do...
 
if it still moves say **** it and run it till it dies
 
i would beat everything as close to in place as possible and functioning again, replace any glass and weld in a roll cage. build the cage to support the areas of the b2 that failed. if you plan it well enough the body should withstand a few more minor rollovers with nothing but dents and broken glass. if the structure can be saved i would do so.

2) get some tubing and weld a cage

3) IMO - 8 buddies and burgers are a better way to lift a body

We had 3 people, a beefy come along, an old tug line and a sturdy beam to pull the body for the bajabronco...
 
My vote,
add a cage keep on playing.
just to keep mine safe on weekends, not really needed when used as a daily driver during the week, I would like to cage it this winter if it isn't plowing snow!!!
 
WTF!? How did you roll it like that there??

Swapping your dash & wiring into the '86 sounds like it would be the easiest to me also.

Well it was easy really. I was driving around the washout and I got too close to the edge and the sand gave out from under the rear tire so I turned just a little away from the washout and about that time the sand under the front wheel gave loose and before I could correct I was on my side. I didn't anticipate going on my side so i didn't try to avoid it. RB
 
yeah the swap is pretty straight forward on the dash's, i just put a 91 Explorer dash and wiring harness into my 87 with only minor changes to the body,

or put a ranger cab on it
 
If you retain the engine wiring harness from the 86 and just swap the entire thing over it would be plug and play.

IMHO, if it was me, I'd be thinking of chopping the top and caging it. Fab up a softtop, patch up the core support, if the A and B pillars are too badly damaged I'd chop all of it and see about rigging up a windshield from a YJ or TJ.
 
Well this is what i'm doing. I brought the auto glass van home from work tonight and pulled the windshield out of the parts BroncoII. I then removed the damaged one out of my rig. I parked next to a telephone poll and put a come along between the A pillar and poll. I dry set the windshield and tightened the come along till it was square. I've straightened it twice before but it hasn't stayed. I then set the shield. I'll remove the come along tomorrow. My plan is to gut the parts rig completely of all interior, glass, & dash. Repair the rust in the back and give it a paint job, then when this body is no longer repairable I'll change the body's, using the 89's dash. RB
