Can anybody tell me if there is a direct swap out for a 9" into a 2001 Ranger XLT? Or recomend a vehicle with the easiest to swap axle for my year and model Ranger.

Do you really want to go with a 9 inch, or are you just looking for a better axle? If you just want a better axle, find a 8.8 out of a FX4 Level II (or a 2002 Level I). It'll have the 31 spline with the Torsen Limited Slip. If you find a really new one (2008), the the regular FX4's had the Torsen available as an option. And it'll be a direct swap for your truck.
Not sure of an easy way to ID the limited slip set-up without tearing apart the axle though. The tag on the axle will only tell you that it does (or doesn't) have LS. The VIN would tell you if you took it to the Ford store and had them run it for you.

i believe the 31 spline 8.8 is a better axle than a 9in is.
any other ranger or explorer should be a bolt in swap.

Why would you want a 9in in a 2001? You would need a good bit of work to get your ABS working properly. The only bolt in 9in is from a Ford Granada. Good luck finding one, I've only ever seen one, it donated th3 351W for my truck, it was Granada Ghia. Had a 9in with disc brakes, couldn't get the axle though.

I just want to put something that I will never have to worry about with a Super charged V8 swap.

full float 60 or 14 bolt....35 spline.
i fawked with the 8.8 long enough and all the trussing on a 9 just to kill it anyway is senseless.
they are cheapest way to go with patient shopping.

If you get retarded on the gas, it won't matter what axle you put in. If you are going for lots of power and going to beat on it you will be spending money reguardless. If you build up an 8.8 or a 9 you will be spending some cash. If you go with something bigger such as a 14bolt, Dana 60 or sterling; you will be spending some cash there to get it narrowed and different hubs or wheels. There is an aftermarket for all the axles listed, you just need to figure a route you want.
