Available is a 4.0 motor/man. trans/man. t-case combo from a 96 ranger.

They only have 47,xxx miles on them and the motor is complete from fan to alternator minus the coil. Still has the y-pipe also.

What is a reasonable price on this.

I just bought a 4.0 from a 99 explorer with 68k for $500

The guy said he'd like to get $1500 and doesn't want to seperate but has somebody interested in the trans. He wasn't advertising the trans in the ad either.

I'm limited on time for input too.

Thanks!

Also, how much does this weigh? Can I carry it in the back of my '96?

I agree, $1500 is far too much. I'd be very hesitant to spend a bunch on anything like that...have you heard it run? Or is it already pulled? If it's pulled already then that would decrease it's value significantly, at least to me.

You should be able to haul it around in your '96 with no problem. I've hauled a few in my '88..just make sure you strap it down real good.

Wow, don't forget I'm up in Alaska.

I just used car-parts.com and found nothing with less that 90k miles.

All engines were over $500 a piece, some as high as $895. Lowest miles at 81k, 150k on the high end. 5spd trannys were about the same, with a very small selection. T-cases were about 450 with even smaller selection. The last motor I bought from a junkyard, an 03 5.4 w/ 26k, was $1,100 and had all the hoses and wires hacked and some components missing.

I'll see about getting a garentee from him, he just emailed me back saying he would let it go for $1350.

I'm looking at needing to do work to all these parts on my truck. This thing is all together and will go right in. It even still has the cat on it. It's something I've been watching for for a while now.

Just so you know, a tcase can be shipped for about 70 bucks. It would be very worth it to buy one on here from some one like me thats willing to ship such an item.

Sorry, didnt realize you are up in alaska. I would try finding a whole parts truck if possible.
