I have a whine from the rear end of 1993 supercab xlt 4.0L 2 wd, with a 4 speed automatic. I have heard a similar noise in an older ranger with a manual tranny( it was the tail stock bearing). Before I haul the tranny down and tear apart the rear end , does anyone have any tests or ideas? I am also wondering as the /93-94 were the only years to use theis locking torque convertor set up, would a 4 speed auto from a later year work as a swap? Thanks in advance for the responses.
