Newbie Questions

I’m new to the off roading scene. I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge. I’d like to put a 3” body lift kit, bigger tires, a deeper/louder muffler/exhaust, and a suspension lift kit on my truck. I know nothing about after market modifications and so forth. I’m looking for any and all useful information about them. I have a family friend that is a mechanic that is willing to install the kits on my truck, I just want to know things like what brands are good for off roading, what brands or web sites I should stay away from, just anything before I go and buy something that doesn’t fit or I don’t like once it is installed to my truck. Any info would be greatly appreciated…if you need anymore info from me let me know. Thanks

For your truck, Superlift makes a decent suspension lift kit. None of the suspension kits for your year are exactly "cheap" though, you'll probably be looking at around $1600 just for the lift alone.

What size tires are you looking to run?
3" bodylift + a suspension lift (4") is pretty high... Tires that would fit under all that lift will likely be too much for your axles (the front in particular). In any case, you'll probably want to change your axle gear ratio, otherwise bigger tires will rob most of your engine's power and acceleration (this isn't cheap either).

Once the mod bug hits, there goes the bank account, but it can be fun though lol
