Need rain. I got plenty of it here in Oklahoma. Had to cross severly roads that were flooded this morning.

Summertime rain in most of California is VERY rare. Especially so in coastal southern California.
We had a nice one far enough away a few weeks ago. About 20 miles. The wind blew the other way, so if the fire stations weren't empty, you wouldn't have a clue anything was going on. However, air quality SUCKED in the Bay Area.
There was also a pretty good plume somewhere near Cambria or Morro Bay when I was driving up from Palmdale a bit over a week ago (visible far in south from Camp Roberts).
It's been a moderately dry year and there have been heat waves. It's also been VERY dry. So yes, it's going to be a relatively nasty fire season.

Florida's in the same boat this year. As strange as it sounds this lush state is drying up more and more everyday. Little to no rain in months and consistently over 90 every day plus low humidity makes everything bone dry. We've already had quite a few fires that destroyed a lot of homes. Good luck, hope your home stays safe.

NO KIDDING.... everything is brown! ive seen a couple fires around here in the last couple of weeks.. all on the wildlife preserves, so no damage, but its just a matter of time...
it rained really good yesterday though, maybe a good indication
