Unplug the chime module under the dash (should be right to the left of the ashtray)
or throw a switch in. Sometimes it's good to know when the lights are accidentally left on:

From working in a shop where all I heard was bitching and nagging, the chime of any vehicle didn't, and still doesn't bother me. My '93 Ranger is weird tho, it'll chime without the keys in and the lights off, so I yell "SHUT UP!" and give the steering wheel a swift but relatively weak punch, and it stops lol works every time

I wish I had the ding. My ranger is an '83 and there is the most annoying buzzing sound that goes off when I leave my lights on. I am always tempted to find and cut that stupid wire.

i made one of these kills the dome light and the ding ding ding
slammed 93
the next time it does that try to see if you can start it with out the keys
it will stop making noise when its fully at the off mark
