I am going to put exhaust on my 4.0 Ranger here in a few weeks. I would like some suggestsions. I am thinking either true dual 44's or dual inlet and dual outlet. No cats or with cats. And I want to run it side exit lightning style. What sounds the best on a 4.0. Thanks

Cats. Federal law. Illegal to run without them. Fines can be severe. There is absolutely no reason to remove them. You will not gain power by taking them off. At the very best, it would save a few pounds. We all like breating easier. Leave the cats. If you go true duals, be sure to add a crossover pipe or it is going to sound like two three cylinder engines doing combat with eachother! LOL!

x1 i agree with crbnunit on this one, had the cats out of my truck for a little while and it sounded like sh!t. i've got a gibson single in to duel out behind rear wheel and it has a nice low tone at idle and then in the higher rpm range it will let you know its there, sounds clean also

the RV place we were sharing wifi with shut down, so we no longer have internet at the house. ive been too lazy to have someone come out and hook up a hard line...so its forced me to get crap done that ive been putting off for way too long anyway :icon_twisted:

why? was there an excessive amount of 3.0 bashing while i was gone? :tease:

Single in dual out w/ Flowmaster Delta Flow 40 series. 2.5in from the y-pipe back w/ a high flow cat.

Sounds awesome, even w/o tips(cause I'm broke). Sounds like a SBF V8 at idle, then gets really mean sounding at high rpm, but not raspy, really nice tone.:icon_thumby:

Also w/ the Delta Flow style Flowmaster the interior noise is minimal, just roll up the windows, and you barely hear it.
