i have a 99 ranger that i am currently doing a gear swap on. i already did the rear 7.5 axel, i installed 4.56s. i was wanting to know if the dana 35 was harder to do than the 7.5 and anything to look out for when doing the 35. also how do you remove the cross pin, it looks like its some kind of pin but i dont know how to remove it and how do you get the cross pin out when the ring gear is in its path??

What are the specs for the dana 35?????

thank you

Get the specs from West Coast Differential or Randy's. But the ultimate authority is the contact pattern. Pinion depth is generally stamped on the pinion gear.

If the cross pin is anything like in the TTB diff, a roll pin holds it in, there is a hole in the backside of the carrier and you need a long flexible metal rod (no pun intended) to shove the roll pin out, it may take some good hits with a hammer to make it move. I recall using an old metal tent stake with some vice grips to hold it and hitting it with a hammer.

I used a long screwdriver the tip broke off of, and hit that with a hammer. The roll pin wasn't stuck in too bad, but it took a few good whacks.
