D35 locker advise

What do you guys recommend? I have finally decided that it is time for a locker in the front. I have locking hubs and would like to keep it driveable on the street when we get ice/snow here in Oklahoma.

So please provide me with your recommendations and why. Thanks.

I truely love my ARB. They are expensive but worth it. I picked mine up on evilbay for cheap. You can use the same D-35 locker that Jeep uses on the rear. Make sure you get the prober locker for the gears you are using though. I don't remember where the break is.

All depends on your price ranger.....selectable is a beautiful thing but you pay for it. If you want good performance on the cheep go with an automatic locker like the lockright, no slip, or aussi locker.

I just read a little on the Aussi Locker today. It looks like it would work but I don't know how they would work on ice/snow on the road (if there is any bad handling habits).

I have an Aussie in the front of mine, I have no complaints, other than some blown hubs when the skinny pedal hit the floor

No complaints in the snow, but what really matters here is if you know how to drive in the snow!

Go with an ARB.

Agreed, ARB is more than worth the cost for the front axle. When you need it locked, you push the button. When you're on snow/ice, leave it unlocked (open diff) and not have to worry about understeer and handling problems.

i agree, i drove my truck on-road all last winter with auto lockers front and rear.

but really most the time i was in 2wd, if the snow was bad enough where the rear locker wasn't enough, my speed was way under 30mph, and the front locker didn't bother me whatsoever.

i have never had the truck up to 50 in the snow in 4wd locked f/r, things are most likely a lot different at those speeds.
