i recently put another 2.8 engine in my 1985 ranger and now when i start it i have oil coming out the dipstick tube. i did a dura spark conversion and replaced the pcv valve. any help will be appreciated.:please reply by email at delbertreed@yahoo.com
check your compression and PCV and its vacuum connection. both may be bad.

Could be the PCV but it takes a bit to get oil to come out the dipstick.....do a proper compression test.

First off, is your oil level overfilled? If not, it's most likely a blowby issue (piston rings not sealing due to being very worn, broken, or severe cylinder wall to piston wear).
A wet & dry compression test needs to be done to determine if the piston rings are to blame. The difference between the two tests lets you know how worn the piston rings are.
