Hey guys, just got my new Detroit locker today, was just wondering if they all came with a notched cross shaft? Mines the 31 spline and its got a notched cross shaft, just wondering if this is a strength loss or normal or what....
 
Yes, they come with stepped cross shafts.

The cross shaft (more like just a spacer pin) in a Detroit Locker does not bear any load at all, it's mere purpose is simply to hold the axles & c-clips in the side gears. :icon_thumby:
 
Ahh k, after looking at it again, yea there isn't anything putting stress on the cross shaft. Thanks Junkie. Now I just gotta get the gears swapped over and the new housing under the truck.
