First off, it's a 93 SC XLT 4x4 Ranger with a 4.0L and a manual transmission.

Here's my first problem, from 0 to about 25 or 30 mph the speedo needle fluctuates (wiggles) up and down about 5mph or so. It's done that since i bought the truck and i don't really care but it would be nice to fix.

My REAL problem is that, now, when i'm goin like 70 on the freeway the needle will fluctuate about 3-5mph while my actual speed remains the same. So now i can't use cruise control because it is constantly trying to adjust the speed as the needle moves.

I already replaced the speed sensor in the tranny by the drive shaft and that didn't fix it. Apparently theres another on in the diff...Any other ideas before i go buy that? Thanks a lot

The sensor on the diff is for the Rear ABS only on a 93. It has no effect on the speedometer. Neither does the speed sensor on the transmission or transfer case - it only talks to the PCM and speed control amplifier.

If there is fluctuation at the speedo needle, I would check the speedometer cable for binding and the condition of the gear teeth.
