I have a 94 ford ranger 4x4 XLT 3.0L V6. I need to buy a new set of shoes, springs and drums, but I do not know if they are 9 in or 10 inch brakes. Is there an easy way to find out, or do I need to take off my tire and pull it apart to get the measurement?

Any help would be great

the tech library says:
Rear:
The Ranger uses a 9-inch rear drum. Limited slip rear axles and vehicles with a GVWR over 4580 pounds use a 10-inch drum.

mine is a 90 4x4 supercab 4.0 and mine were 10in when i changed them.

You could also take a rear tire off and measure the drum.

I've never seen a Gen3 4x4 with 9" brakes.

the latest 4x4 ranger I have seen with 9" brakes was a 1989 2.3.
