My 04 3.0 has three also. One on each side in a Y pipe that feeds into a third single. The o2 sensors are only before and after the front two. I just replaced them with Magnaflows that appear to be a bit louder than stock.

You would save a lot of money by leaving the cats alone and just playing with the muffler. Modern cats are pretty low restriction.

I would guess somewhere between $200-300 to get a catback put on. Add $150-200 if you want to change the cat as well.

Aftermarket high flows are still pretty cheap though.

Replacing a good cat system with a brand new stock system doesn't make much sense.

That is a direct fit replacement cat system, the same thing that he has now but aftermarket. Note the last line in the description:

These converters are designed to exact OE specifications and are available for the most popular vehicle makes and models.
When most people get aftermarket cats it is something more like this:

but those would require a 100% custom exhaust system, keep in mind, they have oxygen sensors in multiple places on that y pipe, before and after cats, so u would need a high dollar labor instesive exhaust to make use of aftermarket high flow cats

so i would be better off sticking with the 3 stock cats and getting a flowmaster 40 series or something of that sort? I've seen them online for about 80.00 so how come if you go to a shop they are around 300.00 installed? are they just jacking the prices way up and charging aton for labor??

I would stay with the stock cats.

Shops will charge a little more for the muffler than you will get online, and then an hour or two to put in using the existing pipe.

I bought my mufflers and tips for my F-150 and took them to the shop and had them put on, no problem.
