Truck seems to "Bounce" with torsion keys...

I just had torsion keys installed in the front of my Ranger in conjunction with two inch blocks in the rear. I love the added height , but the front end seems to "bounce " when I hit bumps. Is this common with torsion keys? I also have the stock tires on right now. I plan on adding a set of BFG all terrains 265/75/R16. Thanks for any input.

How high did you crank'em? Got pics? Is the truck bouncing up and down like it has no shocks or is it so stiff the front end is leaving the ground? I'm leaning towards the latter. Your suspension is cranked so far that you effectively have no travel.

You could be topping out the shocks. That's a common problem on the Chevy IFS trucks when the torsion bars are cranked too far.

I think the t-bars were cranked too far. I dropped 'em a bit and took it around the block and it seems to be OK.

Glad to hear it's better! I'd recommend an alignment, you'll have to reset toe and possible camber depending on how much you dropped it. It'll chew tires pretty quick without one.

Thanks! I will definitely be getting an alignment. I am, however, going to wait until I order my new tires later this week.

i installed the keys and it did the same thing so installed 2 inch lift shocks and it fixed the problem the shocks bottom out when you crank the bars that much

.......going to go with 265/75/R16's. Probably could go bigger, but that should be good enough for what I want.

The other thing is, the amount you crank the torsion bars up is also the amount of downtravel that you lose. Another reason why it rides hard and bounces. If the truck goes UP the suspension cannot drop DOWN if the bars are maxed out.

Sworn, nice looking truck. Have a question though, torsion keys... what exactly are they? I have been doing some reading on cranking the torsion bars, however I am a bit confused by that. I understand that there is a bolt basically that needs to be turned, but I don't want to mess with the alignment. Do the keys effect this as well? I noticed on the home page here there were some torsion bar leveling kits from Truxxx. Are these what you used? I would like to get about 2.5" of lift to level my front. Any info is much appreciated. (feel free to offer other suggestions)
