A buddy and I are starting a project that is basically going to be a baja bug body on a '85 bronco II frame. I need to know what the minimum wiring i am going to need is to run the engine. what can i live without? i have a complete donor vehicle.
thanks,

minimum wiring for a 2.8. Duraspark distributor with a gm four pin module will do the ignition. a manual metering block on the carb will remove the need for wiring to the carb. then you just need wires for the starter and alternater.

Ok, easy enough, How much more complicated would it be to keep the stock carb base? I like the fact that it runs like it has EFI

The only way to leave the stock feedback carb setup is to retain all the wires, vacuum hoses sensers and controls that are originally attached to the motor. the 2.8 usually runs a lot better without all the computer stuff.
breaker points from a '73 or '74 mustang and a carb. starter and solenoid - that is unless you wanna bump start it all the time.

I would do it before you pull the body, so then you don't accidently pitch something you need. Make sure you keep the choke too, they don't run too well with out it.
