Just looking for some general information about "Fox Body" Mustangs.
I've always been interested in them, and might be considering getting one sometime this fall. Most likely an early 90's, but 80's are still a possibility.

Just wondering about things I should look for, things I shouldn't, specific faults with the vehicles, the differences between LX and GT models, etc.

Mostly anything about them would be helpful.

Thankyou.

watch for abuse, frame rott, strut tower rot, bad trannys, anything like buying a regular vehicle.... so much more to look for, best thing is to use your head..

gt models were all hatch backs, lx most were notch backs. most of the notchbacks you see have had a v8 dropped in, but lx's were availible with 5.0. the lx was a little lighter, and a little stiffer. you deffinatly want one with an 8.8 diff. if your lucky enough to find a t-top, jump on it! a lot of cars have been modified, its almost impossible to find one not tweaked a little, but they are still around. common mods are 4 cyl springs, exhaust, cobra intake(FI), gt40 heads...... and so on. you almost deffinatly want a 5spd. but make sure its a t5-wc not a 4 cyl t5. a lot of people put them in, they work, but dont hold up.

you should probably look for a gt 87+ they look the best, and have the best aftermarket. LX notchback is very easy to find!
