so the circuit that my radio, dome light, glove box light, etc. are on keeps blowing the fuse instantly, like the moment i put it in.
i've removed my door jam switches to eliminate this possibility.
i have checked my radio connections and they look ok.
i have removed and looked at my connections at the dome light itself and they look good. and the same with the cargo light.
i haven't looked at the glove box light too closely yet...

could this be a bad ground, some where?
or am i going to have to tear my entire dash harness apart to look for a place for this to be shorting to ground?

this is on an '88 2.9l 4x4 standard cab xlt.
any help would be much appreciated.

You have a short somewhere. Do you have a Haynes or Chiltons manual? The electrical diagrams will help as well as a good VOM to test your wiring.

ya i got a chilton manual... but i hate the damn thing.
i swear it can be the most useless thing around most of the time.
i dont have a volt meter, but i think one of my buddies here at school does...
i pretty much hate dealing with electrical shit...

so i've checked out all the wires i can visually, and i cant find any problems....
so i was wondering where the dome/cargo light wires run... and where they come to a point where i can access them with out tearing my interior apart too much...
