door handle broke

I took off my inside door panel to see why my door will not open from inside. The rod is moving but is not unlocking door. I have to open from outside. Would putting electric locks on it fix this problem?

doubtful, but it really depends on whats broken. you really need to identify the problem before throwing parts at it.
