I'm in the process of rebuilding/adding AC to my truck. I've been able to hunt down all the parts and brackets and I'm buying all the equipment new. The one thing I'm having trouble figuring out is the hoses. Some hoses are already made but others appear to have some kind of a crimp or spring fitting that I'm not familiar with. Does anyone have a truck from that year that I could get pictures of or some kinda of diagram to figure out what hoses I'm going to need.

Thanks

See the sticky at the top of the forum. Those photos are from a later engine than yours, but it's similar.

The springlock fittings go between the lines and the condenser and accumulator/drier. They are not used to assemble the lines themselves. Evaporator and (on 2.8L/2.9L) compressor fittings are threaded.

Yeah I've looked at that thread, only thing is it looks nothing like my truck. I'm not sure if thats one of the V6 rangers or what. Im trying to get a good look at the brackets since i'm probably gonna have to make some. What came with the truck wasn't made for it.

Thanks

Well, dealer-installed air is another story. That's a 4.0L. It's VERY similar to a 2.8L/2.9L with a couple of exceptions (compressor fittings and the suction line routing).

Yeah I've noticed... I'm having a time finding the correct pieces but today i found a junked van that has most of what i need. I didn't mention it earlier but I have a 2.3L so everything is different lol. Oddly enough a guy at the ford dealership near here tipped me off to some other vehicles that might have the parts i needed.
