Hello:

I'm new to the forum and was wondering if anyone has seen a kit by which I can convert the foot operated parking brake to a hand operated?

I have some disability in my left leg and which it doesn't hinder me using the clutch but it is very difficult to operate the parking brake.

Thanks in advance!

i have never seen a kit, but you can probably rig one up from any other car.

I have yet to been in a situation where i could not use my right foot to engage the P-brake But, if you do want to convert to hand break on the cheep find a u-pull wrecker and get the hand break, and front cable out of a Festiva, or Honda as they are plentiful and cheap to get parts out of.

Hi, MT Native, and welcome to TRS.

I don't know of a kit, either. This sounds like a case where's there's likely just not a big enough demand so that there's an aftermarket solution.

When my parking brake was "iffy" because the rear shoes needed replacement. I would set it before getting out, and then crank it down another click or two with my right leg, standing outside the truck before closing the door and locking her up. Maybe that could help you.

Otherwise, like the previous posters say, fabricating a hand lever setup using a donor vehicles' parts would be required.
