Hello

Third time out with my B2 and I blew out the front seal on my trany. I was stuck up to the axles in clay. I pulled the pan and found parts in the bottom. Its an auto A4LD trany. One cross member and some coolant lines to come off and its ready to drop. After this I have to pull the trany from my AWD Areostar and put the 85 valve body in after cleaning and rebuilding it. Wish me luck because this is my first trany pull in 20 years.

I thought AWD Aerostars had dramatically different front axles and transfer cases than Bronco IIs.

Hello

You are right. Awd areostars axels and T-case are different but the tranys are the same bolt setup front and back. The VB are different, one is controled by the ECM and the other isn't. I will be using the 85 VB for this project. Also the motor will (4.0l) should bolt right in. But for now I am going to use the trany with the 2.8l till next summer.
