i was reading up on it, says its slated for a fall release. The srt-8 has 425 something hp, 420 torque if i remember correctly. It almost seems that the RT will be a better value. It only has the 5.7 hemi, but has 370 hp and just under 400 torque. This is pretty close the the 6.1, and is most likley a bit lighter. You can get both in the 6 speed manual. The big difference is the srt-8 gets 13-18 for mpg, while the rt gets something like 16-23 with the technology that turns off 4 cylinders. You can get the RT in more colors too. And of course there is the 250 hp base model that is pretty much useless, getting basically the same mileage as the 5.7. Im curious to see what sells when they come out. Im thinking the RT will sell the most. Best looking new concept in my opinion.

Easily the best concept so far. Mopar muscle forever!

Until you compare the insurance it probably wouldn't pencil out. Even if they brought back the old slant 6 I would still drive one. Easily the best looking car in production today, mainly because it doesn't look like a new car.

Major downside is the car is both huge and heavy, from a performance standpoint the GT-500 would tear the 6.1 apart because it has much less car to move. But then the old Challengers were huge compared to a Mustang too.

I think I remember hearing that there are only going to be 1200 Challengers this year. They were saying that dealer mark-up was going to be huge. It's going to be nice seeing new Mustangs and Challengers lining up at the drag strip again.

The SRT-8's are being released very soon and that's what you read. The R/T and base model are being released at the end of the year as presumably '09s, so that explains the low numbers.

They sure look sharp, just like the old ones. Wonder just how much the dealers are going to bump the price up. Think I'll just have to keep my Roush 427 and meet one on the road. Have gotten 24 mpg on the road with it.

These were at a dealership in Denver a few weeks ago. They were doing high altitude testing. Personally, I like 'em.............always have liked the Challengers & Cudas
