87 A4LD into 94 Ranger

87 Bronco II 2.9L with a recent rebuilt tranny and more recently a blown motor. I have a 94 Ranger 3.0L with 240k miles and beginning to slip. Spoke with a local tranny shop, they say it may not work because of the Electronic differences between the 94 vs 87... What say You?

I say no because the 87 A4LD from an 87 2.9L licks poop off the sidewalk. Raptor transmissions sells a bullet proof A4LD for $1900......
