i need to hook up a tester on my 94 4x4 ranger.4.0

it is supposed to be on the power box but i can not find it. what does it look like?

Well do you mean a code reader? If so its under the hood. Just behind the fuse block on the driver side fender. Its held in a plastic cover attached to the bottom back of the fuse block towards the cab. You have to unplug the connector from that little housing. Just look for that parallelagram shape, its under there.
