Alright, ever since I got my truck it has always bucked a little at low RPMs when accelerating, like say in second at about 1200 RPMS it would buck. I always thought it was in the drive line but lately it has been doing it more, in more gears though more RPMs. It has also been poping under the hood when it does it. Anyone have any ideas? No CEL or codes...I really don't know where to start.

Sorry, it is a 93 4.0 manual 4X4

you shouldnt be running your engine any slower than 2k anyways....

How long have you had the truck and what fluids have you changed? Also does the problem ever happen when shifting at a higher RPM, say around 2300-3000? Upshifting at real low RPMs puts a lot more stress on the engine causing it buck like you're describing.

try changing your fuel filter adn plugs and wires and see what it does

I have had it for about a year. I have done oil, tranny fluid, front dif fluid, antifreeze.

It isn't that I am upshifting at low RPM's, it is more slowing down for traffic or what not, then getting back in the gas. It just dosen't seem normal.

Every once in a while it will do it in the mid RPM range, but more commonly in the 2000 and under

Got any ideas?

Probably not a bad idea. I did re gap my plugs in hopes it would help but it didn't.

I need to buy new shocks, so maybe I will add a fuel filter, plugs and wires to the list

What kind of plugs should I run? Autolites?

thats what i run in my 2.9 and they are just fine. not to mention they arent expensive. how did your plugs look when you had them out?

They looked great, just the gap was too large.

I put new plugs, wires and fuel filter in it tonight....I will see how it runs.

BTW, I went to NAPA to get plugs and I told them I just wanted autolites and they told me I had to run Autolite Iranium plugs...that is the OE replacement he said. So I got them and at $6.50 a plug they better be perfect. I thought it was odd considering it is new technology, but he insisted. In my 5.0 mustang I just run the cheap autolites and they work great, so we will see.
