hey i have a 04 2 wheel drive ranger and im wanting to put 4x4 on it. How can i go about finding a good conversion kit for not too emuch money? and after the conversion i would like to put a lift on it, preferably a 5 - 8 inch lift so where can i find these parts

ps. im also new to this
 
The only way to convert any '98+ Ranger from 2wd to 4wd is to first make sure you have either the Edge or Sport model. Both of those submodels have the 4wd front suspension without the axle.

The only way to do it if you have a XLT or XL 2wd Ranger is to do a SAS (Solid Axle Swap). That could cost anywhere from $1500 to $5000.
 
the cheapest way to "swap" in 4wd is to sell your truck and buy a 4wd. the money from your truck will just about cover the cost of the new truck.
