Well as everyone knows, as soon as you buy something, something cheaper comes along. Here's my version of that with Shoeboy getting the raw end of the deal....He buys a ranger in my town (1.5hrs from his) and I find this thing a week later for 2k less.....Granted it needs a rear window and front fenders to bring it up to being as nice as his, but thats besides the point.

Here she is:

-97' reg cab long bed
-4.0L 5 speed w/ 3.73's and 30" mudders

I'm guessing the 2 extra leafs and overload bumps mean this truck was a fleet or parts truck in a prior lifetime....dents suggest it too...

The GFs car....35-40mpg in town, 45-50 highway at speedlimits...

That car looks like it should have a great big key on the back of it to wind it up.

Sad thing is it keeps up to the ranger, even squawking tire in 1-2-3 shifts.....

Ok, ok, rub it in why don't you...

But do you have a set of brand new GoodYear 31" tires... OH, THOUGH NOT!

Does your have brand new front brakes and new suspension everything (excluding coils and leaves)... OH, THOUGHT NOT!

Does yours have manual hubs and manual shift transfer case... OH, THOUGHT NOT!

Does yours have the styling step side... OH THOUGHT NOT!

Does yours have a killer stereo system with an Alpine deck, 2 Rockford amps, and 2 massive 15" Punch subs... OH THOUGHT NOT!

ok thats about all I'm willing to go, with the 31"s and the 3L its a pretty piss poor combination, theres not much power, and I originally wanted to go for the 4L, just every Ranger I found that had the 4L were abused beyond help. I'm thinking I might just keep this until a 1998 or newer comes up for grabs that I like, and then try to sell this truck to a high school student for "Big Bucks" because of the stereo (I could probably get $7000 if I really tried to, hey, I got $1500 for a Dakota with a 1/4 of a million Km, and in poor shape). But anyways, its a good looking truck. I just have a lot less body work to do then you (crack in the fiberglass box). I'm not going to say that I'm annoyed, because I'm really not, but A good deal is a good deal, and there will always be something out there better after you buy something. My old Ranger was "The good deal", 1989 with 180000km and needing nothing (although I did oh so much more), for a grand, you can't go wrong.

Exactly....lol. With all the spare parts from my SAS truck, fenders, doors etc I should be able to make it kinda niceish. I do have a manual set of hubs for it, and the brakes and balljoints are new, but thats about all it's got goin for it. Other than that it's pretty plain jane, just thought I'd try and rub it in a bit.....we outta go out wheelin some time now, stock and all lol.

Yeah, and Shoeboy(?) got to enjoy his for a week longer already... I'd say that's worth 2grand. :buttkick:

And with this powering 2 15" subs, it sounds pretty bad ass too
