Greetings from Brazil,
First, congratulations to you. We in Brazil have a similar forum about our Ford Rangers: http://www.comunidaderanger.com.br/phpBB2/index.php?PHPSESSID=4c19c966ee8564cfde4b4dff8ccefdc1.
Please excuse me also for my bad English.
Owners of gasoline Rangers in Brazil are having problems when supplying gas in your cars at gas stations.
Normally there is a mechanism which closes the gate when the gas tank is near completed so that gas is not thrown out of the truck, when its capacity is near fullness.
This is not happening with our trucks. Besides the combustion dangers of the fuel, the Brazilian gasoline is a mixture of gasoline and alcohol. Alcohol is also very "corrosive" and I think it will corrode by time the body, specially my truck bed, even if you clean it, because some residues of alcohol always remain.
I have tried to contact Ford in Brazil and Ford dealers, but they insist there is no problem, but it is happening often as you can see at our link: http://www.comunidaderanger.com.br/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=286&PHPSESSID=4c19c966ee8564cfde4b4dff8ccefdc1.
Some owners of more aged Rangers inclusive those which were build in the USA and brought to Brazil are also reporting the problem.
Anyone had the same problem and get solved it? Please note me, if positive.
Thank you very much in advance for your attention and patience.
Felipe
