:mad:ok, so when im driving down to interstate, I get about 65-70 and if I shift out of 4th into 5th, I can feel a huge power loss and watch the speedo drop, but even if I stay in 4th, I can't go any faster than 70 but im not close to redlining or anyting! o yea, I have 33 in tires on it as well and its a 5-speed

what size engine does your ranger have?? and is it geared at all??

I got the 2.5L and its got the stock gearing 3.73

With a 2.5, 3.73s and 33s you need to re-gear. I'd say 4.56 or 4.88s depending where you do most of your driving.

With my 2.9, 3.73s and 31s I rarely use 5th. That's one reason I'm regearing.

Same with my 2.8

You deff need lower gears like 4.56s. I have a 2.9 with 3.73s an 31s an ive never benn past like 70 ever!! But wheels like a sum bitch in low hahah

with that setup i would go towards 4.56's or 4.88's and u will notice a CONSIDERABLE increase in gas mileage when u do aswell, buddy with his ranger setup similar to yours, but wiht 4.56's would easily be able to get to 100+

I could get my 2.3 5 speed with 4.10s and 31s to 80, but it takes a while and there is nothing left to pass with. I'm really becoming concerend that swapping to 35s will be a big mistake.

you'll apreciate 4.88's with those 33's.
