What size motors did the 1992 Rangers have in them? I am lookin at one that is a 5-Speed 4x4. I don't want to call the number on the ad if it isn't a 4.0

uh....4.0 or 3.0 are your options....how will you find out if u dont call
 
Yep, just doesn't matter what was available in that year, what's in the truck? Not sure the 4.0 was an option in that year (?).

I've also seen a few 92's that still had the 2.9L. The 3.0 had mostly replaced the 2.9 by then. 4.0's had been an option since 89 or 90.
 
2.3 was an option on 4x4's then, so really it could be any of the engines, 2.3, 2.9, 3.0 or 4.0...
