I don't think they are, although it wouldn't matter anyway for swapping, the Vic is 28 spline, the Ex 31, which means the wheelbearing sizes are different.

To convert that axle to 31, you'll need custom shafts made for it that use the 28-spline-size bearing journals. (Moser, Currie, Dutchman, etc. sell such shafts)

I'm not sure, does a 31 spline Crown Vic axle even exist? :icon_confused:
The bigger bearings still wouldn't fit your housing though (and I don't think you can swap the housing ends either, the tube sizes are different).

If you were thinking of getting Explorer shafts, just get the whole Explorer axle. It'd make it a far easier swap.

What's your reasonin for the CrownVic axle other than price?

I'm lookin to pick up same type of rearend, but purely for the disc brake setup, as I have a 92 Explorer 8.8 w/3.73 posi & drums, and plan on puttin the disc brake setup off the CrownVic on it.
