i think its the bar that you see going across, but just wondering!?

That bar that goes across in the picture is the sway bar.

Torsion bars are usually behind the front suspension. Both those pics were taken from the front. You are going to need to take some pics from laying under the truck, behind the front wheels, looking forward at the front suspension.

The torsion bars should be connected to the lower control arm and extend lengthwise back to some point on the frame or to a crossmember.

That bar you see going across is your swaybar, look behind the front wheels, they will be two bars inline with the frame, going from your lower control arms, to a crossmember.

If your are talking about the '93, torson bars didn't get used until '98'. You should have coil spring suspension. Can just see them in one picture.

Thanks

You adjust the bolt in the 3rd picture, the one on the right side of the picture (The threads of the bolt are sticking up on the top left corner of the forth picture)

Find the torsion bar at the suspension end then follow it back until it ends in a box looking thing. look up from the bottom in that box and you will see a bolt, that is the bolt you tighten.

Here's a link for more clarification if you need it.

If you have springs on the front suspension, you do not have torsion bars.

That being said, you crank on a bolt inside the mounting (third pic shows the mounting best) at the rear of the bar. The bolt is offset from the centerline of the bar (to the outside, I think), and the bolt changes the position of a key attached to the bar. Some key bolts have a lock nut on them. You have to look into one of the holes in the mounting. Use lots of lube, and make sure the tires are off the ground when you crank.

Cranking them will cause toe out, and camber change. You will need an alignment after you crank them.

u might have to heat them to get them lose but i would use that as a last resort try penatraiting oil first and as long as ur within a 1/4 of a turn u will be all set also sometimes u can also use a big clamp and take some pressure off the bars it helps a bit sometimes

Boggin-B-Series

k, thanks, and ive already heated it a bit with the torch, but wat are you talking about with the clamps?

nvm about the clamp it only works on GM trucks sorry just rememberd that sorry again the only thing u can do is heat it till it's glowing and try that or soak it with pen oil and let it sit over night if u break the bolt or strip the thingy the bolt screws into most of the time the dealer has them on the shelf and the're pretty cheap

Boggin-B-Series
04-06-2008, 05:29 PM
alrite thats pissin me off im heatin up the bolt like a b!+ch and its not attempting to glow, sparks and shit but no glow, its only about -10 degrees here , i dont think thats too too cold

try and see if u can get the flame on the bar that the bolt is threaded into laws of heating metal it exspans u get it so by heating up the bolt ur actually making it tighter
